Cross-Browser Compatibility Testing Tool
Web application "experience" management service provider Gomez, Inc., just introduced a free Web-based tool that automatically tests how Web sites look in four commonly-used combinations of browsers and operating systems. After entering a URL, the free Gomez tool returns screen captures of the Web page in each browser/OS combination, revealing content-rendering issues such as missing graphics, function buttons or text. The Gomez Cross-Browser Compatibility Test can be accessed at: http://instanttest.gomez.com

What Bing, Twitter, and Facebook Mean for SEO
The More Things Change...
Google is traditionally the main area of focus when it comes to search engine optimization. With the search engine giant so far ahead of the game in terms of search market share, it's not hard to understand why. Search is changing though, and there are always new elements coming into play. Since social media has come into its own, more opportunities and questions have come along with it. Now Microsoft is going for Google's throat with a new search engine and an aggressive marketing campaign. What this means for the future of search market share is yet to be determined, but there's no denying Bing is capturing some attention, and that means there are people searching with it.

Microsoft's Bing to Win Market Share?
Microsoft recently rolled out a new search engine called Bing. This launch appears to be another attempt by Microsoft to win over search market share from its main search rivals, Google and Yahoo! Microsoft is reportedly planning to spend over $100 million on promoting the engine . . .

IPHONE vs. GPHONE
While Apple and its latest version of the iPhone, 3GS, have topped recent headlines, there is still a tremendous amount of buzz building about Google’s phone, nicknamed the gPhone. Michael Martin, who maintains a Google-approved blog for Android information called Google And Blog, predicts the summer to be promising for Android and says there will be 18 Android devices circulating by the end of this year.

Building Valuable Links With Communications And Marketing
Not many in the Search Engine Optimization game would argue that link building isn't tactical. The problem is, approaching link building as an end goal and tactically, is very much like a hamster running in it's cage. That's what many mechanical SEO consultants do: Chase links one by one or get creative with link bait to attract an influx of links from blogs that write about the kinds of things other blogs do for link bait. I should know, in the past 12 years of providing SEO services, there have been many opportunities to do just that. It's not scalable, not sustainable and certainly not strategic.

Could Bing Snowball Into Google's Territory?
Comparing Google and Bing Feature by Feature
Google wants to make sure you don't forget about Google like you forgot about Dre. With Bing, Microsoft has created the most buzz the company has ever seen in the search industry, and it is spending a large (and well-publicized) sum of money to make sure people know about this one.

15 Stupidest Ways to Lose Your Job
Sometimes, a person will lose their job through no fault of their own. The whims of a psychotic boss, an economy in shambles, or a simple misunderstanding can have an otherwise satisfactory employee packing up his or her cubicle. Other times, a person will lose their job because they have done something so incredibly foolish, you wonder how they ever got the job in the first place. This article is about those people.

Email Marketing on the Rise
Cost-Effectiveness and Retention are Big Factors
New research suggests that email marketing in the US will reach $2 billion by 2014. This isn't exactly in line with research from JupiterRearch earlier this year, which suggested $2.1 billion in 2012, but it's looking good for the industry nonetheless.

The cure for YouTube's ills: Charge for uploads
Larry Dignan: Business models that revolve around "free" are never free since someone always foots the bill. YouTube may be one of those companies that merely thinks it has the scale to eventually make money, but those 20 hours of video uploaded every minute cost money?too much money. The solution? Charge a small fee for uploads.

Google Changes to No-Follow on the Horizon?
PR Sculpting and Link Juice and No-Follow - Oh My We made a video at SMX Advanced with Stephen Spencer recently where we discussed (among other things) some changes expected(?) to be coming to Google in terms of the no-follow attribute. These no-follow changes have some pretty significant implications for lots of things, first and foremost though it seems these changes are specifically geared to mitigate, to some degree, the effectiveness of PR sculpting.
